IRC Logs Jan 16th

(7:30:29 AM) jgarnett: looks like I better round up people if we are to have a quick meeting (unless I am early .... back in a second after I check the time)
(7:32:25 AM) mauricio: jgarnett: hi
(7:33:10 AM) jgarnett: hello :-)
(7:33:18 AM) jgarnett: we should send a reminder email out to the list
(7:33:34 AM) jgarnett: sorry for not being active this week - I was sick with the flue since Monday :-(
(7:33:34 AM) mauricio: yes :)
(7:33:54 AM) mauricio: I was off line too
(7:34:16 AM) jgarnett: so it looks like people have been doing a great job of organizating the code sprint
(7:34:25 AM) jgarnett: I have to figure out the spreadsheet and fill in some time
(7:34:40 AM) jgarnett: I am actually going to go and try and sleep a bit more today; and will be more active tomorrow
(7:35:02 AM) mauricio: good plan
(7:35:45 AM) mauricio: I was reading some e-mail (i need update me )
(7:35:55 AM) jgarnett: reminder email sent.
(7:36:17 AM) jgarnett: I think I was going to start with the database input wizards (as the first difficult thing that is broken).
(7:36:31 AM) jgarnett: Did anything catch your eye that needs fixing?
(7:37:16 AM) jgarnett: I may do the create feature type dialog (since I am pretty sure I am the one who busted it during the upgrade to geotools 2.5). Well I made it compile but did not have time to test - since that was not the goal for that code sprint.
(7:39:15 AM) jgarnett: well if you have any questions for me please ask :-) If not this is going to be a quiet meeting.
(7:39:46 AM) jgarnett: I understand that others have been showing up and not posting their logs. So at the very least we can get in the habit of meeting at this time slot. It will take a couple of weeks to take hold.
(7:40:00 AM) mauricio: well it is my first sprint
(7:40:46 AM) mauricio: I think i will follow your steps tomorrow
(7:41:01 AM) jgarnett: It starts tomorrow for you does it not :-) yep...
(7:41:03 AM) mauricio: to learn
(7:41:14 AM) mauricio: yes
(7:41:37 AM) jgarnett: I do not think we have much tricky to do; just a bug stomp. It should be quite nice since a lot of people are showing up
(7:42:51 AM) jgarnett: I see Jeses and Paul were both very kind and fixed up the uDig download page(s)
(7:42:59 AM) jgarnett: pramsey++ thanks
(7:43:10 AM) mauricio: yes
(7:43:22 AM) mauricio: we install trunk today
(7:43:34 AM) mauricio: it was very easy
(7:44:31 AM) jgarnett: that is good; I was doing the old fashioned release by hand technique documented on the wiki
(7:44:38 AM) jgarnett: nice to know it still works
(7:44:55 AM) mauricio: yes
(7:44:59 AM) jgarnett: how are you doing for having a good check out of uDig trunk with Eclipse 3.4.1 etc.?
(7:45:45 AM) mauricio: we have problem with some plugins
(7:45:58 AM) mauricio: it was solved setting java 6
(7:46:02 AM) jgarnett: I had to add a step here - http://udig.refractions.net/confluence/display/ADMIN/07+Eclipse+Preferences#07EclipsePreferences-PluginDevelopment%3ETargetPlatform
(7:46:16 AM) jgarnett: (unchecking "Build target platform based on the traget's installed plugins)
(7:46:42 AM) jgarnett: that and extracting the delta pack into the eclipse (rather than just the dropins) seems to have let me make releases.
(7:46:58 AM) jgarnett: should not be that big a deal unless you are trying to make a release yourself.
(7:47:43 AM) mauricio: ok
(7:50:19 AM) jgarnett: Still I should make a new Eclipse 3.4.1 extras; and provide instructions to download the delta pack. Or structure the extras download with a dropings, plugins, features folder ....
(7:50:22 AM) jgarnett: I will see what I can do
(7:50:32 AM) jgarnett: well my friend I think I may post these logs
(7:51:04 AM) mauricio: good
(7:51:27 AM) mauricio: I will update my desk
(7:51:32 AM) mauricio: see you
(7:53:35 AM) jgarnett: cheers!
